Campobello Island is a small Canadian island off the coast of Maine. To visit the island via the United States, you must bring your passport or proof of citizenship. Please make sure you have the proper requirements to enter Canada at this time. The current Border regulations can be found here:

HOW TO GET TO CAMPOBELLO ISLAND,NEW BRUNSWICK, CANADA
Coming from Canada? Island Hop from Mainland New Brunswick via the route of ferries or if you are not in the sea faring mood, take the drive through Maine at your own pace. Or why not do the Quoddy Loop and do both! Campobello is a Canadian Island, bring your passport! Passports not necessary if using the ferry system from the mainland of New Brunswick and the Deer Island to Campobello Ferry. Passports or appropriate documents are required if you take the Quoddy Loop Route and drive through Maine to arrive or return to Canada.
FERRY TO MAINLAND CANADA
From the N.B. mainland driving East or West on Highway #1, take Exit #56 to St. George, follow the signage for Route #172 to L’Etete, N.B.
The first government ferry is free of charge.
Once you arrive on Deer Island via the ferry, drive the length of the island until you get to the departure point of the ferry (fee) to Campobello Island, N.B.
DRIVING TO CAMPOBELLO
Campobello Island is approximately a 6 hour drive from Boston, 4 hours from Portland, 2 hours from Bangor, 1 hour from St. Stephen, N.B.
FROM USA BY CAR
Travel I-95 to Bangor Maine Take Route 1A to Ellsworth. Then take Route 1 to Whiting. Turn right to Route 189 to Lubec, Maine. Cross the FDR MEMORIAL BRIDGE to Campobello. Toll free.
FROM CANADA BY CAR
Take Route #1 from Saint John N.B. Or Route 3 from Fredericton N.B. to St Stephen N.B. From there, cross the border to Calais, Maine and follow Route 1 south to Whiting. Turn left to Route #189 to Lubec, Maine and drive to Lubec, Me. Cross the FDR MEMORIAL BRIDGE to the island. The visitor center is located approximately two miles from the bridge.
CAMPOBELLO IS ACCESSIBLE VIA EASTCOAST FERRIES LTD.
The East Coast Ferry trip is a magical scenic trip that is a “must” do while staying on the island. It is a wonderful way to reach the island but also great for a day trip to St. Andrews, or Eastport.
All East Coast Ferries depart from Deer Island, and travel to and from Campobello Island daily during the summer months, weather and other factors permitting.
